Statement as of 4:57 am MST on December 5, 2008

... Lake Wind Advisory in effect from 11 am this morning to 7 PM
MST this evening for Fort Peck Lake...

The National Weather Service in Glasgow has issued a lake Wind
Advisory... which is in effect from 11 am this morning to 7 PM MST
this evening.

Light west winds this morning will become northwest by this
afternoon and increase to about 20 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph.
These winds are not expected to diminish to less than 20 mph until
the early evening.

Boaters should use extreme caution if venturing onto Fort Peck
Lake. These winds will make open waters of the lake rough and
hazardous... and may result in high waves which may tip or swamp
smaller craft. For your personal safety... avoid the open waters.
Stay close to shore or around protected areas.
